This spring, The Sound of Arrows return to the pop fray with a brand new single, the first to be taken from their hotly anticipated debut album, to be released on Geffen later this year. Single ‘Nova’ is released on 12” vinyl and digital download on April 25th and is accompanied by an incredible other-worldly DIY video, even surpassing the celestial beauty of their last.

See the video for ‘Nova’ here:

When we last left them, the Swedish duo of Stefan Storm and Oskar Gullstrand had just released their debut UK single, the gloriously skyscraping ‘Into the Clouds’ complete with a magnificent (also DIY) video, both of which allowed audiences a peek into their dreamy, neon hued fantasia.

This time, for the appropriately named NovaThe Sound of Arrowsaim not only for the skies, but seemingly the very stratosphere itself – creating a soaring pop song of epic proportions which only seems to get bigger as it goes along. Indeed, as Storm sings wistfully about escape and his restless longing for “something better” (“if I stay in this place, every hour is another day”), a lush orchestra of synth beams, effortless melodies and symphonic beats whips up around him, creating an instantly infectious and heart-swelling anthem in waiting for our modern times.

After setting the blogging world alight with their remix of Lady Gaga’s‘Alejandro’ late last year, The Sound of Arrows have let a host of other artists at their own single – the first of which to surface online is the dreamy and spacious II Figures remix, online here:

And this is but a tantalising glimpse into what The Sound of Arrowshave planned for the rest of the year – with the debut full length pretty much in the can and a slew of live dates and festival appearences also planned for the summer, 2011 could very well be theirs for the taking.
