HANSON SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM “SHOUT IT OUT”

| On 29, Mar 2011

MONDAY MARCH 21ST LONDON – On the heels of the band’s highly anticipated performances at the US South By Southwest (SXSW) festival and an impromptu livestreaming telethon to support the Japanese relief effort which brought together more than 40 artists from around the world (Michael Stipe, The Boxer Rebellion, Alpha Rev, The Hours, Ozomatli, Ben Folds), independent pop-rock trio HANSON are pleased to officially announce the upcoming UK release of their acclaimed album Shout It Out, from June 5th on their own independent label 3CG Records (through Absolute via Universal). All formats of the album will have bonus content and a CD ‘media book’ special package for the physical album release.

Thirteen years since their out-of-the-blue, soul-inspired brand of American pop-rock was introduced to the world with a breakout single MmmBop making it’s mark as the first simultaneous #1 single in the UK and the US at the same time and 25 other countries, HANSON is in top form. Shout It Out which debuted at  #2 on the Billboard Independent Charts in the US last year, has received much critical acclaim – Billboard said that Shout It Out represents some of the band’s “most soulful work ever committed to record, while NPR considered the album “a career highlight for HANSON”.

In coordination with the album release, the band is also staging their 5-night concert series for UK fans, 5of5 London which features each of the bands studio albums performed in their entirety climaxing with the live premiere of the new album. The concerts will be staged from June 5th-10th. Tickets for the 5of5 London are on sale to the public now on Ticketmaster.com and GigsandTours.com.

Additional special packages, including entry to an intimate conversation with the band “The Story: How The Music Was Made”, are only available at the band’s website, Hanson.net. Each night, the band will share a detailed account of the creative process while making each album, highlighting anecdotes from their vision, struggles and victories with each album.

An increased groundswell of excitement shared by the band’s devout fan base and new fans alike began last year, lead by the success of the US debut single “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’,” and it’s vibrant and infectious music video which paid homage to classic film The Blues Brothers, garnering over three million views online and climbing into the top 10 on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown as well as being named one of the top 5 dance videos of all time by MTV.com.

Shout It Out is a collection of finely crafted, R&B-flavored pop-rock, a homage to the music that inspired HANSON when they started out. The album produced and written exclusively by the band is augmented with special guests: Funk Brothers bassist Bob Babbitt, who played on some of Motown’s greatest hits, and horn arranger Jerry Hey, who worked with Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Earth, Wind and Fire and many more.
