Standing on the brink of the mellifluous opening of Auction’s new tune it is difficult to know what to expect; thankfully the band don’t give you time to settle yourself in for an unimaginative trip as you are violently thrown off the edge into freefall. Statues is a creative, unpredictable track that is not easy to pigeonhole.

The track has the catchy digital sound that would perhaps ensue if Nintendo ever went indie. It has a fresh energy and is a compelling listen; the soulful vocals of Joseph Sigee complement the track perfectly. It is a mix that shouldn’t work but somehow does!

An utterly innovative, upbeat tune with a refreshing energy. Although the song could risk feeling too ‘packed’, it is an invigorating musical experience that will leave listeners wanting more. I for one place a high bid on Statues.
