Rubik release their new album

This week Rubik released their new album ‘Solar’ in their homelands Finland.
It went straight to no. 1, with Finland’s biggest music monthly SUE hailing the band “a modern national treasure” while national newspaper Satakunnan Kansa described ‘Solar’ as “so full of solar energy that it blinds the listener”.
The pull of Rubik is not for Finnish alone. While ‘Solar’ is their debut UK release, it is Rubik’s third studio album. Their last ‘Dada Bandits’ was a massive success in Europe and US – “brilliant, album-of-the-year type material … to listen is to hear as good a summation of modern indie rock as you’re likely to hear” – Popmatters, “listening to Dada Bandits, it’s hard not to feel that Rubik’s done more—rather than following international trends, they’re showing us all the way forward.” – Nylon. While playing massive festivals worldwide such as Oya, Primavera and CMU, UK press lucky enough to catch the sensational live shows were equally as smitten – “Animal Collective, Flaming Lips, TV on the Radio and Arcade Fire but with more verve and a quirky lead singer with fantastic stage presence.” – Clash Magazine.
When Rubik recently premiered the album track ‘Laws of Gravity’ on tastemaker US site RCRD LBL, they too glowed in its unique brilliance describing the track as “impeccably tailored, brawny, of-course-it’s-from-Finland-cause-Vikings-invented-lionhearted rock.”
In short Rubik do unique, uplifting, dynamic pop/rock like no one else.
‘Solar’ is released in the UK on 2nd May
‘A Short Film About The Year Before Solar’ premieres on Rubik’s official website
