Sony Music is set to release ‘Killing Bono: The Original Soundtrack Album’ on CD and as a digital download on Monday March 28th. The film will be released theatrically on Friday April 1st.
The album includes a rare and never-before-released song entitled Street Mission written by U2’s first band, ‘The Hype’.
In addition to ‘Street Mission’ and U2s Joshua Tree classic ‘I Still Havent Found What Im Looking For’, the album features eight new songs written by Grammy-nominated songwriter Joe Echo. The songs are performed by the actors who portray brothers Neil and Ivan McCormick, and Bono in the film – Ben Barnes (Chronicles of Nania), Robert Sheehan (Misfits) and Martin McCann (Clash Of The Titans).
‘Killing Bono’ is the critically acclaimed rock n roll comedy, based on the true story of the McCormick brothers as they struggle to forge a path through the 1980s music scene, whilst the meteoric rise to fame of old school pals U2 only serves to cast them deeper into the shadows.
