Skream literally doesn’t rest, quite clearly the South London DJ and producer loves what he does, and what he does involves constantly challenging the ever-changing musical landscape before him. The last 18 months has seen Skream release two highly anticipated albums, his second solo album ‘Outside The Box’ released on Tempa in August last year and Magnetic Man’s debut album, seeing him partnered alongside fellow dubstep pioneers Benga and Artwork bridging the gap between an underground movement to chart success. Add into the equation a constant stream of remixes for artists such as Katy B, Cassius, David Lynch and Chromeo as well as his recurring Skreamizm mix series and legendary DJ sets…. then you’ve got one prolific young man.
Setting his own precedent in 2011, Skream releases his next single taken from Outside The Box with ‘Where You Should Be’ featuring Sam Frank. Released on Tempa on May 16th it comes backed with remixes from Laidback Luke, Shy FX, Jack Beats, Seiji, T Williams and Zed Bias.
After gaining a cult following his video for Ratatat’s ‘Drugs’ last year, Carl Burgess worked with production company Blinkart to shoot the video for Where You Should Be. Shooting in a wind tunnel at Queen Mary’s University with the help of the aerodynamics laboratory, Burgess made a cast of the model’s head and took recordings of the effects smoke and wind pressure had surrounding the curvatures of the face and body.
