Universally hailed as one of the greatest male vocalists of our time, the legendary Johnny Mathis will perform three rare concerts in the UK during October 2011. This marks Johnny’s first UK tour dates in five years. The last time Mathis toured the UK was September 2006.

Mathis will perform concerts at London’s The O2 arena (Wednesday 12th Oct), Birmingham LG Arena (Friday 14th Oct) and Manchester MEN Arena (Sunday 16th Oct). Tickets will go on sale on Friday March 25th at 9am. 24 Hour Ticket Hotline: 0844 888 9991. Book Online: www.ticketline.co.uk.

The 2011 UK tour announcement follows the release of Johnny’s latest studio album “Let It Be Me: Mathis in Nashville” – his exciting first foray into country classics.

Mathis concentrated on romantic jazz and pop standards through the 1980s. Starting his career with singles of standards, he became more popular as an album artist, with several dozen of his albums achieving gold or platinum status, and seventy-three making the Billboard charts. His hit singles include “A Certain Smile”, “12th of Never”, “Misty”, “When A Child Is Born”, “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late”, “Winter Wonderland”, “Someone”, “My Love For You”, “Gina”, and “I’m Stone In Love With You”.

Mathis was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, which is a special award established in 1973 to honour recordings that are at least twenty-five years old, and that have qualitative or historical significance. Mathis’ single “Chances Are” (1957) was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998. This was followed by “Misty” (1959) that was inducted in 2002 and “It’s Not For Me To Say” (1957) that was inducted in 2008.
