Funeral For A Friend – Sixteen

| On 21, Mar 2011

Like it or not, this is a band partially responsible for the continued existence of You Me At Six, so they’ve got a hell of a lot to answer for in my honest opinion. Fortunately, when this is also a band that hurls out flawless chunks of emo tinged Punk Rock, it’s insanely difficult to stay angry with them. As a taster for new album Welcome Home Armageddon, the Welsh quintets fifth, it couldn’t be more exciting, showing that while they haven’t experienced the kind of arena slaying success they courted shortly after landmark debut Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation, they’re doing something very different and far more thrilling, visceral and artistic, exactly what they want to do. Welcome back Funeral For A Friend, in an age where your average British rock band sounds wholesomely American, you have been sorely missed.
