THE JAPANESE POPSTARS PROPEL LONDON INTO THE EASTER PARTY WEEKEND
aaamusic | On 15, Mar 2011
The Japanese Popstars open the Easter weekend at East London music hot spot Cargo on the 28th April. They will be devastating the dance floor with their ferocious yet pure sounds engulfed within an unadulterated electric energy that only Gary, Declan & Gareth are capable of! With support from electronic outfit Losers, and Luke Walker to fire up London’s clubbers and propel them into the Easter party weekend.
The Japanese Popstars are ravenous. Since they first tasted success in 2006 with their first two releases on a small indie dance label, their career has been one smooth, upward curve. But now that line is about to take a sharp rise vertically. Three lads from Northern Ireland who have spent the last two years racking up the air miles as they’ve taken their coruscating live show to all four corners of the globe… and still found time to make the record of their lives with their second album, ‘Controlling Your Allegiance’, the first fruits of a new deal with Virgin set for release this June, which will follow the release of their single‘Song For Lisa’ on the 4th April.
Supporting the Japstars and equally fierce are Losers. Comprised of Eddy Temple-Morris, XFM’s legendary trailblazer, DJ, producer, remixer and dance floor provocateur of the highest order & Tom Bellamy, keyboard, FX pedal and guitar legend who have taken inspirations from all areas of dance music to become a noise all of their own. And opening the Thursday night will beGung-Ho! Recordings DJ, Remixer & Producer Luke Walker.
