Thousands – The Sound of Everything

A new frontier of indie-folk has just been trespassed, thanks to Seattle duo Kristian Garrard and Luke Bergman, aka Thousands. Their first album, ‘The Sound of Everything’ is a genuine and exquisite bucolic hymn to nature.
Discovered by Fleet Foxes’ guitarist Skye Skjelset, Thousands impress with the most difficult skill, simplicity. Whispered arpeggios a la Elliott Smith and virtuosity worth of John Fahey accompany the entwined voices of the duo in a journey into the depth of nature and wilderness.
As the duo said, “We want people to listen to this with headphones on and feel like they’re immersed in these locations, and there’s us, sitting next to you, playing a song”. Well, the result is incredibly close to the expectations of these two Americans, and ‘The Sound of Everything’ promises to be the best soundtrack to this coming spring.
