Soundcrash @ XOYO Wagon Christ (Luke Vibert) album launch on 19th March

| On 13, Mar 2011

Soundcrash proudly present a night of forward thinking hip hop and electronica laced with acid bleeps and squelches at London’s most forward thinking club XOYO on Saturday 19th March. A perfect pairing – not for the faint hearted!

The night sees the one and only Luke Vibert return to the fray under his most celebrated and wondrous moniker, Wagon Christ. King of stoned exotica, ridiculous vocal samples, swinging rhythm and psychedelic groove, never one to take himself too seriously, his music continues to delight. This exclusive performance brings his new album, “Toomorrow” into the World, out on Ninja Tune records on March 14th. Built around a dizzying array of vocal samples, the album spins out in a hundred and one directions whilst always being recognizably a Wagon Christ production.

Support on this special night comes courtesy of Parisian Synth Magician Xavier Thomas, aka dÉbruit, and his melee of jack-knifing riddims, booby-trapped syncopation and bass heavy collisions. His Music is a no holds barred assault through dark Congolese sound systems, downtown L.A. block parties gone wrong, haze filled Kingston recording studios and freaky Tunisian backstreet souks; all powered by a fat hip hop engine. Having cemented his reputation with a string of releases on Civil Music, including the massive “Nigeria what?” 12” single, dÉbruit is now preparing a full album and a brand new live set, which you can preview on the night at XOYO. Boom!

Expect unexpected treats from Ceephax, brother of Squarepusher, aka Andy Jenkinson. A true anarchist of analogue abstract electronica, pushing bubbling acid to the fore and creating 303-stuffed collages of gabba frenzy and 8-bit barminess. A love of exploring the unexpected has seen him record an album on Eurostar, launch a new label ‘ Waltzer’ with cassette only release and host Acid Karoke nights at Bloc Weekender.

Jack-of-all-trades Mike Ladd returns to London especially for Soundcrash with his Infesticons project, a musical vehicle aimed at combating “indifference and apathy” which combines hip-hop’s swagger with funk’s intensity and punk’ s attitude. Having written and produced ten critically acclaimed albums and dubbed as an ‘artists artist’, the Mike Ladd admiration society runs deep.

The evenings proceedings are topped off with a generous helping of soulful, twitchy and killer hyperactive tweaks and beats from Young Montana?, dubbed as Mary Anne Hobbs “Favorite Unsigned Artist of 2010″.

Yet another epic Soundcrash sonic spectacular far too good to be missed. Come out come out wherever you are give your ears the well-earned TLC they deserve!
