Ironik – Killed Me

Ironik wrote a good piece of pop-hip hop, with a catchy refrain softly sung by McLean who features the song.
The verse is accompanied by a background of piano and strings giving the tune a dark mood and a groove similar to Gangsta’s Paradise, but with a singing style reminding the east coast.
Ironik is from London, but his musical roots definitely belongs to American rap- hip hop, indeed it’s like he wanted to get East and West coast together using the most melodic sounds of hip hop, typical of West , like Eminem sometimes does, and the gloominess of the East side.
The result is Killed Me, a single that could be successful, it’s most genuine compared to Ironik’s first single, “Falling in love”, that reached number 40 in the charts despite the star power of its featured vocalist, (90210 star Jessica Lowndes ) probably because it chased a too much easy pop sound. We hope Killed me could reach at least the Top 10.
