Introducing Nottee – the new scandinavian indie pop superstar
aaamusic | On 13, Mar 2011
Nottee first caused a sensation back in the latter part of 2009 with her Fleetwood Mac inspired pop. Since then she has been honing her craft, finding her production sound and been tipped by NME, Mixmag and Dazed.
The key ingredient in her musical progression was in the shape of Henning Fürst (ex.The Tough Alliance) and the first results of that collaboration are released to the world in the shape of a limited 7” release on Swedish label Emotion (Karl X Johan, Nicolas Makelberge, Hwasser). The 7″ is a double A side with the effervescent tracks ‘Don’t Waste Your Light On Me’ and ‘Share This’.
This is beautifully inspired pop with a distinct Scandinavian flavor. It pulsates and is sprinkled with both electronic and acoustic waves, while the serene voice of Nottee lingers on top and will most likely enchant the world in 2011.
Nottee aka 25 year old Swede Rebekka “Nonno” Drougge began playing guitar at the age of eight and up until a few years ago has also played bass in her brother’s band Lo-Fi-Fnk. At the moment she is part of label mates Karl X Johan’s live set too.
Don’t waste your light/Share This, Nottee’s double A-side 7″ single, has been released on March 8 2011 on Emotion.
