Josh Bray – Rise
aaamusic | On 10, Mar 2011
Devon-born musician and songwriter Josh Bray has emerged onto the English folk-pop scene with an acoustic bluesy sound that is hard to resist.
Rise is an inspiring piece of music that is comparable to the charming sounds of Seth Lakemann and can be placed within the territory of the likes of Turin Brakes. The beautiful vocal harmonies and infectious melodies are reminiscent of long days spent in the countryside, those poignant moments in which nature makes you feel at once content and longing for the future; the song invites listeners to remember and to dream. The B-Side Indian Girl provides listeners with a more stripped-back sound in which a simple musical accompaniment allows Bray to show off his sumptuous bluesy vocals.
As a welcome release from the stresses of daily life in the city, Rise presents Bray’s own charming and relaxed world, an irresistible escape.
