International super-group, and one of the biggest bands in the UK over the past 10 years, the Scissor Sisters will be headlining UK Festival, Lovebox on Sunday 17th July, it was announced today .

Currently supporting Lady Gaga on her US-wide tour, the Scissor Sisters, who can boast two number one albums and millions of record sales worldwide, will definitely be one not to miss at Lovebox 2011. The band are well-known for their awe-inspiring live shows and have always been a favourite at festivals – their performance at Glastonbury last year was widely cited as being the best performance of the festival.

On headlining at Lovebox , Ana Matronic says “It’s appropriately named, this Lovebox festival, seeing as how I love every single name on this lineup.  Booty-shaking, hands-in-the-air, smiles-on-faces fun will be had, friends.  You want legends? Marc Almond and Blondie are here.  You wanna move til your legs fall off?  Horsemeat Disco and 2 Many DJs are in.  Need a Nouveau-Disco Diva in your face?  Give it to us, Ms. Kelis and Ms. Robyn.  And to think that we Scissters get to be the whipped cream and cherry on top of your Sunday…WOW.  This, people, is going to be hot.  I can’t wait.”

In its 9th year, Lovebox is a ‘festival without comparison’ playing host to an array of internationally celebrated bands and DJs, old and new. Held at Victoria Park, London’s oldest public park, the festival attracts crowds of over 65,000 people each day.
