Gang Gang Dance reveal opening track from new album ‘Eye Contact’

| On 06, Mar 2011

Following the announcement of the May 9th release of Gang Gang Dance’s first album for 4AD, Eye Contact, more details of the record have been made available, along with a stream of the near 12-minute album opener, ‘Glass Jar’.
Recorded in 2010 with long-term collaborator Chris Coady (producer of Saint Dymphna and RAWWAR, as well as recent releases by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Zola Jesus, Beach House and TV On The Radio) Eye Contact sees the band subtly build upon the melodic aspects of previous album, Saint Dymphna. The album opens with the brief declaration “I can hear everything. It’s everything time”, then segues effortlessly into the audacious eleven-minute slow-burner ‘Glass Jar’. Elsewhere, Eye Contact features a guest appearance from Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, whose signature vocals take centre stage on the track ‘Romance Layers’.
In advance of the album’s release, a limited edition double A-side 12″ will be released on April 4th. Lead track ‘Glass Jar’ can be heard from the band’s website here
