SIS makes UK debut at Sankeys – Sat 5th March, Manchester

In keeping with Sankeys’ grand tradition of bringing global talent to the UK for their debuts, it’s only fitting that the next Sankeys Carnival features one of the hottest talents around right now: SIS. This is his first EVER UK gig, and after previous visa problems Sankeys are proud to announce they have secured the superlative services of the young German DJ and producer for Saturday March 5th.
After his huge success with celebrated tracks such as “Trompeta” on Ricardo Villalobos imprint Sei Es Drum (highest credit appearing as the first guest artist) and “Nesrib” on Cécille, Sis has been a star on stages and behind the decks all over the world. His first EP (Lilly from the Valley EP, Amused Rec.), was followed with a release for 8bit Rec. (Voices of Istanbul EP). International attention came at the end of 2007 with his first release for Cécille Rec. (La Garua/Orgsa), a record which sold out within one day in most shops across Europe. His second release for Cécille (Nesrib) was a real bomb, playlisted by all the top Djs around the globe.
After handing “Trompeta” to Ricardo Villalobos, he liked it so much that he decided to release it on his own boutique label Sei es Drum, which up to that point had only released Ricardo’s own productions. Both DJs and DJ press agreed that Sis was one of best breakthrough acts of the year, as Groove Magazine awarded him “Producer of the Year” and “Track of the Year” (1st Nesrib, 2nd Trompeta) honours in their end of year poll, and Raveline named him the #2 Live Act of the year and Newcomer of the year for 2008. For the last two years of the decade he has toured the world with Cocoon, and enters 2011 as one of the hottest talents around.
Onur Ozer also supports this show. The Istanbul native and Cocoon DJ has quickly become one of the vital representations of Cocoon’s brand of house and techno, adding to their continental ensemble of DJs and delivering time and time again for the brand.
Sankeys’ own OD Muzique round off what is all set to be carnival time.
