Katie Melua Tour News

| On 26, Feb 2011

This week Katie Melua returned to the stage when she performed at the City Rocks concert held in London’s Guildhall. Having been signed off work in September 2010 Katie is now keen to be back on the road. Speaking from rehearsals in London Katie said “I’m feeling great and am looking forward to going back on tour, which is what I most love doing. It’s good to be back!

Katie’s European tour, which was originally due to take place in autumn 2010, will start in Dresden on March 9th and conclude in Freiburg on June 21st. The thirteen date British leg will kick off in Sheffield on April 22nd and end in Glasgow on May 9th.

Katie will be performing hits including ‘The Closest Thing To Crazy’ and ‘Nine Million Bicycles’ from her first three international best-selling albums as well as songs from her latest album ‘The House’. Released in May, Katie’s fourth album has received some of the finest reviews of her career and topped Billboard’s pan-European charts. The first single ‘The Flood’ was described by Radio 2’s Janice Long and the Daily Telegraph as “the best thing she’s ever done.” Meanwhile the Sunday Express declared “Four albums in, Melua has made her masterpiece” and the Mail On Sunday wrote “She proves herself to be a songwriter of subtlety and depth”. Q Magazine called ‘The House’ “A mighty leap forwards” and The Times described it as “Her best yet”. Whether performing with her band or on her own with just her guitar Katie Melua’s voice is instantly recognisable with a unique and magical quality.
