Watching the live Tying Tiffany played in Rome to showcase her new album Peoples Temple was an incredible experience.
Singer and model, Tying Tiffany gave the audience a relentless sequence of songs (without breaks between one and the follower) mixing electro, punk and dark in a breath taking way.
The show kicked off with a short set played by Spiral 69 presenting their new dark rock album “No Paint on the Wall”.
After a short break to change instruments Tying Tiffany got hold the stage with other two musicians forming an electro-power-trio (vocals – guitar – bass/synth/programming).
The set was opened with 3 Circle, the first track of Tiffany’s album, and you felt immediately plunged in a psychedelic-noise dimension which was the principle element of the show, passing from extreme distorsions to screaming but sensual moments which characterized Tiffany as a 80s- slasher-movie-scream-queen.
One after the other Tiffany played “Black Neon”, “Storycide” (2nd track from the new album) and a classic like “I wanna be your mp3″.
It was time for the brand new “Lost way“, one of the best tracks of “Peoples Temple”, made as beautiful in this live version as Tiffany, that meanwhile danced wild and gave five to people lent against barriers.
Still in my head, another very good track from the new album is clearly influenced by Nina Hagen, Siouxsie and icons like these, Tiffany’s performance went on like a punk procession, strobo lights contributed to create a more lysergic atmosphere. So we finally came to the end and we could listen to a masterpiece like I’m not a peach, taken from “Undercover”.
Adding other words is pointless, I saw one of the best live of this season.
