“Killing Bono” OST features unreleased track by U2’s The Hype

| On 23, Feb 2011

For Immediate Release, London, England –

Sony Music is pleased to announce the CD & Digital Download release of Killing Bono: The Original Soundtrack Album on Monday March 28th 2011.

‘Killing Bono’ is the critically acclaimed rock ‘n’ roll comedy, based on the true story of the McCormick brothers as they struggle to forge a path through the 1980’s music scene, whilst the meteoric rise to fame of old school pals U2 only serves to cast them deeper into the shadows. ‘Killing Bono’ will be released theatrically in the UK and Ireland by Paramount Pictures on April 1st.

Two special screenings for music journalists and album reviewers will be held on Wednesday March 2nd and Thursday March 3rd at 6pm (for 6.30pm). Both screenings will take place at Paramount Pictures Screening Room, 12 Golden Square, London, W1F 9JD. Please RSVP to will@noblepr.co.uk.

The Killing Bono OST includes an exclusive and previously unreleased song entitled ‘Street Mission’ by U2’s first incarnation, The Hype. Killing Bono documents the incredible success of U2, from their first concert as The Hype, to the peak of their fame as the biggest band in the world. The soundtrack album also includes the U2 classic ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’, from 1982’s landmark album The Joshua Tree, which plays a pivotal part in the film’s climax.

The album features eight unique new songs written by Grammy-nominated song writer Joe Echo, performed and recorded by Ben Barnes (Chronicles of Nania), Robert Sheehan (Misfits) and Martin McCann (Clash Of The Titans), the actors who portray brothers Neil and Ivan McCormick, and Bono in the film. All key cast members and the McCormick brothers will be available for interview.
