Hermanos Inglesos – Take Me Out

Following the release of last year’s ‘Wanderland’ single, the strikingly named Hermanos Inglesos return with the release of their second single ‘Take Me Down’ – out February 21 through Pias Records.
The dance duo – consisting of Belgian brothers Cedric and Didier Engels – produce the kind of electronica that people crave on the dance floors. Bass heavy and synth-laden electro with a techno undertone and plenty of (perhaps too much) stimulating glitchiness. ‘Take Me Down’ is a thumping, pumping electro-rock song in the vein of Justice or the heavier moments of Simian Mobile Disco. And yes, spliced into certain sections of the song, you are indeed hearing the lyrics from the Guns N’ Roses 1989 track ‘Paradise City’ – spoken at quite some pace and (rather hilariously) with a slight accent.
‘Take Me Down’ is finely produced, and all the various components are mixed together remarkably professionally – considering their newcomer status – but although this is a fun club tune it isn’t particularly inspiring stuff. Check out the remixes of ‘Take Me Down’ by The Living Island, The Glimmers, Jaimie Fanatic, Huoratron and Jan Driver if the original doesn’t quite satisfy your electro appetite.
Look out for the release of the Hermanos Inglesos album ‘The Wander of You’, released in the UK this year.
