Swimming have been confirmed to headline ‘Fuck the Whiteboard’ at this year’s Roundhouse Rising event Friday 25th February 2011.

‘Fuck the Whiteboard’ is one of the most exciting new music nights in London, expect an immersive audience experience. Roundhouse Rising is a new week-long festival from the Roundhouse presenting the best in new music across a variety of genres. Programmed in partnership with some of the UK’s hottest promoters (including Eat Your Own Ears) as well as Featured Artist Coalition, Rising is a place for cutting edge music, unique performances, international artist collaborations, music industry seminars alongside showcases for emerging talent from within the Roundhouse family.

Swimming are singer John Sampson, his brother Peter Sampson and three old friends (Andrew Wright, Jonthathon Spittlehouse, Blake Pearson), brought together by a  love of electronic music and sonic exploration that has turned Swimming into a unique prospect  in 2011 – a band with loud guitars, floating synths and a genuine talent for writing great songs.

Swimming will release their first single ‘Sun in the Island’ March 7th 2011 on EVR Records, the new singles label from New York City’s influential East Village Radio (EVR). Like a bright spectrum of colour on an otherwise bland musical landscape, Swimming are here to shine out and hold their own against the other hotly- tipped bands this year.
