“The concept behind this band is a simple one, a decision to bring a sound that is real and therefore easy to relate to with nothing getting in the way of their music”
Q Magazine
The Rivers Bros otherwise, known as No Machine are about to release their latest mini album at the end of April. The Athens born, Portugal bred, London based twins have a new name to go with their new music. This five-track ensemble showcases the talents of these musical journeymen starting with opening title track ‘Romeo vs. G.I. Joe’ which tells the story of being a ‘G.I. Joe’ and battling to overcome the competition from the ‘Romeo’s’ of the world. The mini album closes with the Bros favourite track to date “Twirling Around”. The album is set for release on the 18th of April through Arion Records.
Al and Emil Rivers are classically trained and this definitely shows through their writing with a very accomplished use of intriguing, very catchy melody lines. The vocals are affecting as is the general vibe of their sound. They have been writing music together for over half their lives and have ventured through the musical worlds of ska, progressive rock, punk and indie pop to find what they now call their own sound.
The brothers aim to connect with their audience by sounding 100% real which they feel helps them to connect emotionally with their listeners.
Working on the base of ‘No Machine’, The Rivers Brothers have more than a solid base to go forward with. No Machine’s last two singles received high praise from media sources such as Q Magazine to the Guardian who ‘love their sound’, and websites and blogs describing them as ‘well produced and superbly crafted’.
