Saint Saviour announce new EP release

Saint Saviour kicks off 2011 with the release of a four track EP Anatomy on March 21st.
Opening with the dark disco of This Ain’t No Hymn, the EP serves up a fusion of the brutally mechanised and soulfully organic. A cerebral voice, abused and waging war on Birdsong and Hurricanes, Saint Saviour is both siren and guardian angel, sanctuary and peril. If these are not hymns then Reasons takes us pretty close, evoking Sinead O’Connor’s choirgirl gone bad and brings the otherworldly creations of Kate Bush to a devastating conclusion.
A prolific songwriter with an extraordinary vocal talent, Saint Saviour has been honing her craft via a series of collaborations, most recently with Groove Armada. She not only contributed 4 songs to their latest 2011 Grammy-nominated album – the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Black Light – but also took on the role of front woman on the ensuing world tour. The subsequent profile developed her growing fan base resulting in a sold out show of her own at Bush Hall and a pivotal performance at the Little Noise Sessions, prompting Jo Whiley to comment “(she is) completely jaw dropping…as a solo singer, she is just exceptional”.
It also brought her to the attention of Hurts’ Theo Hutchcraft who invited Saint Saviour that same night to join them on their recent tour.
Saint Saviour brings a strong DIY aesthetic and a fervent attention to detail to all aspects of her work. An accomplished producer in her own right, at ease within a variety of musical genres, her forthcoming EP is the culmination of a series of musical dalliances with Ginz the Bristol-based producer/songwriter/DJ/and head of the Multiverse group of labels and publishing collective. Over the last decade he has written, produced and toured the world under various aliases from the noise art techno of Emptyset to the crunked out dubstep anthems of Ginz and the Joker & Ginz collaborations.
Currently unsigned Saint Saviour has nurtured her fan base, introducing them to her world via a series of homemade demos online. She continues to work across different mediums, most recently with filmmaker Jeanie Finlay – from her hometown of Stockton-on-Tees – appearing in Jenny’s bittersweet documentary about the town.
