The Palpitations – Milk It

It only takes one listen of ‘Milk it’ to realise that The Palpitations are something special.
This track combines the sonic experimentation of ‘Sonic Youth, the vocals of ‘The Runaways’ and the raunchy nature of ‘Die so fluid’. This single shows the group at the top of their game; it is such a foot stomper and so guitar driven that it could fall into the ‘Hard Punk’ category.
One feels blessed when discovering a group such as The Palpitations and ‘Milk it’, especially with the ‘Spektoral’ wall of sound they produce being so powerful and absorbing that it sucks you right in; absorbed by the direct kinetic energy that blasts out of even the smallest devices.
To see this type of music played live it would be pretty damn hard not to be dancing like an escaped lunatic.
It’s been over a year since these South Londoners released their debut single ‘Tears in the rain’ and so, with this new release, fans can breathe a sigh of relief and attempt somehow to keep sane whilst awaiting the release of the album from which it came.
The foundation on which The Palpitations’ unique and awe inspiring sound is built is the way they manage to meld catchy melodies to an experimental sound, whilst building a song that forces your heart to beat faster and faster.
These guys are not subtle in their approach and with such an energetic sound combined with the unusual female vocal dynamics it is not hard to see them as just rising stars, but as shooting stars.
‘Milk it’ will be available on a Limited Edition 7”, and digital download via Club The Mammoth, and you are herein advised to purchase it asap.
