Steve Cradock – Last Days Of The Old World

With the impressive credentials of having been a member of Ocean Colour Scene and Paul Weller’s second guitarist, I could not wait to listen to Steve Cradock’s new release Last Days Of The Old World. With a fittingly nostalgic sound to complement the title of the track, Cradock’s style sounds a little dated at times and perhaps a little too similar to the artists he has worked with in the past. However, Cradock is obviously a highly competent musician and the bouncy feel-good vibe of the track took me on a welcome journey of nostalgia back to the era of my parents. The song has a pure and authentic vibe that seems to be harking back to a time of similar qualities. Although I doubt that this release will take the charts by storm, it is undoubtedly well worth a few minutes of your time.
This release will essentially carry you back to the ‘old world’ of the sixties and seventies, but hey, who says that is a bad place to be? I certainly don’t.
