To The Chase are a 3 piece Indie / Soul band from Hackney, East London.
When You Believed / The Return is the first of 5 singles (to be released monthly) leading up to the release of the band’s forthcoming debut album “Listen Close” in July 2011.
The single and album were recorded at Chapel Studios by Ewan Davies (Kaiser Chiefs, The Automatic, The Maccabees). After receiving advice on song arrangements from their mentor, original Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog-Oldham, the band chose to take the production of the album into their own hands, entrusting mixing duties to Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Noisettes, The Temper Trap).
Formed in 2009, the members of the band are Jim Rooney (Drums), Aaron Kravitz (Guitar & Vocals) and Michael Hamilton (Bass). Live they are joined by a Keyboard player and a Brass section. Jim and Aaron have been writing & playing music together for a number of years and they teamed up with Michael in early 2010 to form To The Chase.
The new album ‘Listen Close’ showcases To The Chase’s ability to write distinctive Pop songs. You can hear influences from a wide spectrum of genres in the band’s music (incl. Indie, Rock, Soul, Electro, Hip Hop and Dubstep) all colliding together in a single track to produce a truly unique sound. There is a clear focus on catchy hooks, up-beat melodies and lyrics, with each track on the album sounding completely different from the last.
