’12 Desperate Straight Lines’ is the brand new album from indie rocker mastermind ‘Michael  Benjamin  Learner, better known as ‘Telekinesis!‘.

Opening with ‘You Turn Clear in the Sun’, ‘Learner’ displays how to keep the indie sound fresh and fun, keeping with the typical indie conventions of simple but catchy instrumentals however accompanies them with powerful lyrics about real life situations instead of the usually sugar coated lyrics of the generic indie band we are so often exposed to, which introduces us beautifully into the narrative of ’12 Desperate Straight Lines’.

Each track, beat, riff and melody is executed with precise accuracy and thought whether it’s the additively catchy guitar riffs in ‘Please Ask for Help’ and ‘Country Lane’, seduction via sound in ‘Fever Chill, classic rock inspired ‘Gotta Get it Right Now’ or sweet grunge inspired dream state vocals throughout, ‘Telekinesis!’ undeniably prove that there are still some good fresh sounds in the indie world of today.

A lovely album, powerful, catchy and only thirty minutes long, definitely recommend you have a listen for yourselves.
