A mere fortnight since revealing details of their second album Cherish The Light Years, yesterday evening Cold Cave posted a track on their website, www.coldcave.tumblr.com, inviting all to download ‘The Great Pan Is Dead’ for free.

‘The Great Pan Is Dead’ is the bombastic, pounding opening track of Cherish The Light Years, slated for release on April 4th 2011. The brainchild of enigmatic bandleader Wesley Eisold, the record is an ambitious love letter to his adopted city, New York.

Cherish The Light Years was recorded with Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House) and features contributions from the likes of Tonie Joy (Moss Icon), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Sean Martin (Hatebreed), Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw), Matt Sweeney, Gae Licata and long-time Cold Cave associates Dominick Fernow (Prurient) amd Jennifer Clavin (Mika Miko).

Cold Cave will tour with The Kills in the US this Spring. UK tour dates will be announced soon.
