A perfect song springs from the struggle of opposite energies, as a cold diadem is crafted with fire. ‘Excerpts’ stands out as result of the heart-breaking performance of Darcy Conroy and the lively and eccentric background of strings arranged by Olivier Alary, aka Ensemble.

Excerpts is paradox and duality between real and false memories, ice and fire as the reflection of schizophrenic Montreal, torn apart by its French and English soul, its frozen shell and its throbbing underground spirit.

Such duality is confirmed in b-side ‘Norilsk’, where mind and ears drift along the rues of Paris, thanks to the romantic voice of French singer Dominique A.

‘Excerpts’ is out in digital release with FatCat Records on 31rd January.
