Aloe Blacc

UK Tour Announced

Blacc signs to Epic (UK) / Single coming soon

“The recession’s soul voice of reason…A real discovery” Guardian

“A modern classic…Combines hard social commentary with a vocal hook and piano riff straight out of the Marvin Gaye book”Dazed & Confused

“Could hardly be more contemporary…blissful” Mojo ****

“Strikingly fresh and full of vim” NME, 8/10

Aloe Blacc has announced details of an intimate UK headline tour this spring. He will play The Library at Birmingham’s HMV Institute on April 26, before calling at Manchester (Academy 3, April 27) and Glasgow (Oran Mor, April 28). He will then headline London’s Scala on May 1, before the tour wraps up at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on May 2. Tickets go on sale Friday, 21 January.

Blacc will perform songs from his critically-acclaimed second album, ‘Good Things’, which was signed by Epic in the UK following an initial release on Stone Throw Records in September 2010. The record’s adaptation of the Soul tradition with the hip hop that defined his early years has already won Aloe some dizzying comparisons (he “writes like Gil-Scott Heron and sings like Bill Withers”, The New York Times).

In advance of the tour, there will be a full release of Blacc’s stunning underground hit, ‘I Need A Dollar’, more details of which will be released shortly.
