TERRACE – FACE INFINITY

Stefan Robbers is back with his latest full-length release Face Infinity. People familiar with Robbers’ work will undoubtedly welcome the new sounds of the producer/ musician’s alter ego Terrace as he brings fans an entirely new brand of dubtech to wrap their minds and bodies around.
Although I have admittedly only listened to a sample of the record, the huge array of instruments and instrumental effects felt at times overwhelming (which perhaps has something to do with the fact that I was forced to listen to it in the confines of my uni library!) However, the plethora of techno textures within this release succeed in sporadically moving between noises and ideas to create a sound that takes you into an entirely different space and time.
It is refreshing to see an artist truly experimenting with music to convey grander ideas than the generic themes we are continually subjected to: Robbers’ desire to make listeners ‘face infinity’ may seem grandiose but the overwhelming mixes and concepts in this release do take you halfway there at least. After speaking to friends we agreed that we can’t wait to listen to this release as it should be listened to: cranked up to full volume, allowing our bodies and minds to be immersed in the music ready to face infinity!
