Heidi Spencer & The Rare Birds – Under Streetlight Glow
aaamusic | On 19, Jan 2011
Heidi Spencer comes from Wisconsin, the state in Midwest between Superior Lake and Michigan Lake, carrying with her feelings and emotion of those lands.
The new Americana sensation is the last of the romantic trobadours, still young but already soaked up with the experience you can only get when you travel coast to coast sleeping in cars and dirty motels.
‘Under Streetlight Glow’ is the first album of Heidi Spencer & The Rare Birds. Heidi is a Janis Joplin more at ease with life, a multifaceted voice angel, raucous and sweet at the same time, desperate and relaxing on the same notes.
Echoes from Ryan Adams, Edie Brickell, Polly Paulusma drift through the notes of this album, still drenched of the naïve enthusiasm of youth.
‘Under Streetlight Glow’ will take you by the hand and accompany through a journey from Milwakee to your heart. Don’t lose the chance to see her for real in the next weeks in UK. Heidi is playing in London this week and in Brighton on 26th January.
