Freesat, the subscription-free satellite TV service, today announced the addition of the radio network Heart to its line-up of over 140 TV, radio and interactive channels. Heart is the most popular commercial radio network in the UK reaching nearly 8 million people every week.
Playing ‘More Music Variety’, Heart has become one of the UK’s strongest national radio brands, featuring a host of well-known personalities including Toby Anstis, Jason Donovan and Emma Bunton. Freesat, the UK’s subscription free digital satellite television service with around 1.5 million customers, is making Heart available on Channel 733 in the Freesat radio genre.
Freesat’s Head of Channels, Mark Briggs said, “I’m extremely pleased to be adding Heart to the Freesat EPG. Heart is a great addition to our radio genre and means that our 1.5 million customers can now enjoy this hugely popular radio service right across the UK. Research shows that listening to radio through television is increasingly significant. Freesat allows listeners to enjoy Heart in fantastic quality via their TV or home entertainment system.”
Heart’s Group Programme Director Luis Clark said: “Bringing Heart to Freesat means that we are able to extend our reach even further across the UK, offering another platform for our audience to enjoy the brand. We’re delighted that Freesat’s million and a half customers around the UK will now be able to listen via Freesat’s digital TV service.”
Heart will automatically be added to the Freesat service via customers’ TVs or digital boxes, meaning listeners can start enjoying Heart’s ‘More Music Variety’ without manually retuning their channel line-up.
