Here We Go Magic Release NSFW Video ‘Casual’

Directed by Nat Livingston Johnson and Gregory Mitnick, aka ‘Peking’, Here We Go Magic’s shocking video for ‘Casual’ was shot in a rural hospital in Bayside and required twelve gallons of blood and birth fluid from real livestock. The video features all five band members who appear to have taken a sudden turn for the worst…
“The challenges of getting a 7-foot drummer to be born from a 70 year-old woman are painfully obvious,” says Johnson. “But we did it,” says Mitnick.
Click here to watch ‘Casual’ and be warned, it’s definitely not safe for work:
Gregory Mitnick and Nat Livingston have been recognized as one of the most promising up and coming narrative film directors, earning accolades in the commercial and visual arts
spheres, including multiple AICP honors and a Kodak Vision Award. Their work is cited for its unique stylistic sense and relatable human touch. They’ve collaborated with Here We Go Magic on two of their previous videos, ‘Tunnelvision’ and ‘Collector’.
‘Casual’ is taken from Here We Go Magic’s current album ‘Pigeons’, out now on Secretly Canadian
Press praise for Here We Go Magic:
“… the woodshedded feel of Pigeons is a good look for the band. Here We Go Magic
are doing something more interesting– something weirder; they’re trying out takes on
jittery new wave, tone-smeared dream-pop, and high-pitched Kiwi pop with success.” – Pitchfork
“Pigeons is more unified (and much more satisfying): In chewy, groove-based jams like
“Collector” and “Casual,” Temple floats delicate vocal melodies over undulating
arrangements that never lose their forward momentum” – TimeOut New York
“Pigeons has just confirmed the band’s new found cult status alongside Grizzly Bear
and Vampire Weekend.” – Filter Magazine
