Generally regarded as the band’s best work and widely critically praised, the record was one of the most played of 2010 by 6Music and a #1 most downloaded dance album on iTunes and Amazon. ‘Black Light’ features many stand out hit singles, including ‘Paper Romance’ (featuring Fenech-Soler and SaintSaviour) ‘I Won’t Kneel’ (featuring Saint Saviour), ‘History’ (featuring Will Young), a top 10 most-downloaded electronic song on iTunes and Shameless (featuring Bryan Ferry) .
Other highlights for Groove Armada’s ‘Black Light’ include major game and television licensing with ‘Paper Romance,’ the featured song on top global selling EA Sports title ‘FIFA 2011’ and ‘History’ in Warner Brother’s new show ‘Moving Target’ and long standing cult TV show ‘CSI – Miami.’
Their video for ‘Paper Romance’ has already had over 1.5 million views on YouTube and the band’s last ever UK ‘live’ tour in October was a complete ‘sell out’ culminating with 2 blistering shows to 10,000 fans at Brixton Academy.
This marks Groove Armada’s third Grammy nomination. Their first was for ‘Superstylin” for Best Dance / Electronic Song in 2003 and their second was for ‘Easy’ for Best Dance / Electronic Song in 2004.
