Saturday, 4th December sees possibly the most impressive line-up of DJ’s yet as part of Topman’s in store DJ programme ‘Saturday Matinee’ in its Oxford Circus flagship store. What better way to shop on a Saturday afternoon than with a soundtrack provided by some of the most up-and-coming and influential trendsetting bands, promoters and DJs on the London and national music scene. Saturday Matinee further enhances Topman’s ongoing support of the brightest musical talent around and perfectly compliments our existing music platform Topman CTRL (topmanctrl.com).
This weekAdd an event for this week sees Chatham’s finest ‘Wild Palms’ fill the 1pm-3pm slot followed by one of the buzz bands of the year ‘Summer Camp’ between 4pm-6pm.
Wild Palms were formed just over a year ago and were immediately signed to independent record label ‘One Little Indian’ on a 3 album deal. Their stomping first release ‘Helen’s Exile’ first drew the music industry’s attention and they haven’t looked back since. A tour supporting ‘Good Shoes’ took their sound nationwide and they’re currently in the studio with Producer Gareth Jones (Grizzly Bear, Interpol, Wire, Depeche Mode) working on fresh material for an album release in the new year.
Having just had their track ‘Ghost Train’ named in NME’s recently revealed 50 Tracks of 2010 Summer Camp are very much one of the bands of the moment. The band is made up of ex solo artist and troubadour Jeremy Walmsley and Elizabeth Sankey. Currently under construction in the studio 2011 will see their hotly anticipated debut album released.
