PURE REASON REVOLUTION have promised fans something extra special for their London Scala date on 9th December in that their set will feature a string section (borrowed from support act Clean Bandit), while the show will also be filmed for a forthcoming limited edition DVD release. Band member Chloe Alper comments that: “This is the first time we have done a show this ambitious. The set will feature material from all three of our albums, including old and new songs for the first time. It’s fair to say we are excited and terrified in equal measure! We’re also really excited about the prospect of playing this show with a string section, and we hope that its introduction to the performance will accentuate the lush arrangements and reinforce the musical curveball that is PRR!”
The Scala show features three support acts: the hotly tipped Losers (Eddy Temple Morris and Tom Bellamy, formerly of Cooper Temple Clause), The Last Republic and the aforementioned Clean Bandit. Advance tickets are just £10, while drinks will be half price between 7-8pm. Eddy Temple Morris is one of many XFM and Kerrang! Radio DJ’s currently giving regular airtime to a new remix of ‘Fight Fire’, the opening song on‘Hammer And Anvil’, while his own band cohort Tom Bellamy co-produced the new album with Jon Courtney of PRR.
Advance ticket purchases for all three dates on the upcoming PRR tour include an option to buy the DVD of the band’s Scala set at half price, with Alper adding: ”There may be fewer of them, but these shows will promise a lot more than anything we’ve done before. This is probably because we now have three albums to showcase, all of which are sonically and stylistically different. Melding the set together has been exciting, challenging and in some ways nostalgic. We are thrilled about the acclaim that has met our latest release and we can’t wait to play some of the new songs live.”

PURE REASON REVOLUTION – ‘Hammer And Anvil’ / review quotes
“Their best release yet. Another example of how to be individual and dynamic in 2010.”
CLASSIC ROCK
“Pop songs underpinned by brooding electronica, as if Scissor Sisters had wandered into the Torture Garden. Yet their love of Muse-style falsetto and
creamy harmonies bring out some deceptively pretty tunes lurking within the maelstrom. Intriguing.”
MOJO
“A full-on heart-pounding assault of great electro. The band have retained most of their heavy hooks to create a great crossover record. 8 out of 10”
ROCK SOUND
“Huge pop hooks and crunching rock riffs that deserve to be heard by the masses. 4 out of 5”
BIG CHEESE
“If you’ve been following the unpredictable path of this bold, innovative UK outfit so far, rest assured they have just secured your attention for the
next instalment.”
