The Wave Pictures release a new single ‘Jonny Helm Sings’ through Moshi Moshi on 13th December. In addition the London indie band will play a couple of shows in the capital, more details are below.

This limited edition 7” sees the band commit to vinyl two more examples of the richly observed and confessional lyrics of songwriter Dave Tattersall. This time round though drummer Jonny Helm takes on vocals. His heart breaking versions of ‘Now You Are Pregnant’ and ‘Sleepy Eye’ have been much-loved favourites of Wave Pictures’ audiences.

Following a run of dates in Spain the trio of Dave Tattersall, Franic Rozycki and Jonny Helm return to the UK for two dates including an Xmas show with Moshi Moshi label mates Slow Club:

25th NOVEMBER – London (UK) Guardian Extra presents @ Old Queens Head with support from Idiot Glee
22nd DECEMBER – London (UK) @ Union Chapel with Slow Club – SOLD OUT

One of most prolific and hard working bands in the UK, The Wave Pictures were critically lauded for their 2008’s debut ‘Instant Coffee Baby’, short listed for The Guardian ‘New Album Award’ and included in many a year of end poll. The follow up If You Leave It Alone was equally acclaimed.
