Take Control is the debut EP for the South African band What Now. Coming to the UK in the hope of expanding their international popularity, the future looks bright for this band as all 5 songs on the EP demonstrate their capacity to be a huge commercial success. Take Control is full of rousing hooks and infectious melodies that will permeate the teen bracket.

The band has created a range of songs that will fit any occasion or emotion, thus establishing their EP as a soundtrack for the modern bemused youth. Songs such as Move On show that the band have a real talent for creating catchy, upbeat melodies with accessible lyrics and a positive sentiment. The release is even more impressive when one considers that it was produced entirely by the band themselves and made in a bedroom! Although the general sound definitely needs to be polished and developed, Take Control is an impressive release that has left me wondering What Now?
