The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 is proud to announce Foo Fighters as headliners for Saturday June 11th. Foo Fighters are one of the most influential bands of the last two decades and are sure to get the festival season rolling in true rock fashion. The Isle of Wight Festival is renowned for hosting the biggest names, along with the best up and coming acts around and 2011 will be no exception.

Foo Fighters have had two #1 albums in the UK (One By One and Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace) and four top 10 albums (Foo Fighters, The Colour & The Shape, There Is Nothing Left To Lose, In Your Honour). Their hits are festival anthems that have raised millions of hands and voices the world over, including ‘Everlong,’ ‘Best Of You,’ ‘Learn To Fly,’ ‘All My Life’ and ‘The Pretender’.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 is the perfect stomping ground for the band and fans alike, but tickets for this epic line up will go quick so head to www.isleofwightfestival.com on Friday 19th November to get yours.

John Giddings, the Festival’s promoter, says, What band is more fitting to bring back for our tenth birthday than the Foos? They gave it their all in 2006 and have only become bigger and better since.

Each year the Isle of Wight Festival brings together free spirited festivalgoers, in a truly beautiful setting. It is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and best-loved festivals on the calendar and the three UK Festival Awards for ‘Best Major UK Festival’, ‘Outstanding Greener Festival’ and ‘Outstanding Contribution to Festivals’ (awarded to John Giddings) are proof of just that.
