The Standards – Like A Heart Attack

What can I say about The Standards? I love them! I am completely enthusiastic after I listened to theirbeautifully catchy single Like a heart attack. But pay attention, catchy is not synonym of banal , it’s hat kind of song that you suddenly find yourself singing while you’re under the shower, or watching the telly, it insinuates itself under your skin. It’s thanks to its syncopated verse that reminds a nursery rhyme or maybe it’s thanks to a Morrissey-esque crescendo, so clear, open and joyful, the fact is that I can’t stop to sing it.
Musically speaking The Standards belongs to the school of Brit music, they are a sort of optimistic Morrisseys, with a touch of Beatles in its variation and a voice that sounds like Bowie.
Wonderful basis conditions for a huge success. Waiting for their debut album I wish them good luck.
