Twin Shadow – Forget

| On 15, Nov 2010

“A major new musical talent.” FACT, 4.5/5

“Sounds better with each spin.” Pitchfork, 8.4

“We didn’t expect 2010 to throw up such a last minute highlight.” The Fly, ****

“Exotic and exciting.” The Independent

“Lewis’ music has serious depth.” MOJO, ****

“Understatedly, subtly, almost perfect.” NME, 8/10

Today marks the worldwide release of Twin Shadow’s debut album, Forget. Written in a Brooklyn apartment over a series of many months, the record was recorded and produced by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor, who originally released the album in the US on his own label, Terrible Records.

Forget offers a panoramic view of a musical landscape that spans decades. Veering from the full-throttle power ballad Slow’ to the shimmering Niles Rodgers-tinged disco of At My Heels’ and the new wave synthesized breaks of Castles In the Snow’, Forget speaks of a carnivorous musical mind not afraid to venture down unknown paths.

Describing his debut, Twin Shadow main man George Lewis Jr says:

“It’s bedroom music, but it’s been done with the same attention as many classic B-movies. It’s not like a slapdash home video though; it’s someone operating with very little at 100-percent of their ability. I can say without shyness Forget was and is a product of the hardest work I’ve ever put into anything.”
