Aberfeldy Unveil New Video & Free Download
aaamusic | On 15, Nov 2010
Aberfeldy, 6-piece purveyors of fine folk-tinged pop since 2002 announce the release of “Somewhere to Jump From”, the second single from their album of the same name, along with a wonderful psychedelically inspired video created by filmmaker/animator David Lemm.
The sound is bright, melodic and poppy, with glockenspiel, violin and acoustic guitar underpinning beautifully arranged boy/girl harmonies and lovelorn lyrics.
Founder Riley Briggs enjoys a reputation as a fine singer/songwriter, with instant classics like “Love is an Arrow”, “Summer’s Gone” and “Uptight” to his name, and the band have performed all over the world, often supporting the likes of REM, Blondie, Beautiful South and Paolo Nutini. Aberfeldy’s music has soundtracked countless international films, TV shows and adverts for products as diverse as diet coke, nappies and travel insurance.
Their line up has recently expanded to include versatile multi-instrumentalists Poppy Ackroyd (of the Hidden Orchestra) and Kirsten (daughter of Big Country’s Stuart) Adamson, who also writes and performs with her own band, The Gillyflowers.
Aberfeldy are accomplished live performers, their combination of beautifully executed music and unpredictably hilarious banter never failing to leave an audience smiling.
