Mirrors – Hide and Seek

Mirrors release a new single from their forthcoming album “Lights and Offerings”, expected in February 2011.
“Hide and Seek” is a classy exploration around the best of 1980s, from a bass synth a la Human League and noir atmospheres that bring us to the first Depeche Mode and OMD. Mirrors don’t differ at all from the general trend involving indiepop music, but manage to provide a perfect balance between dark surrounding atmospheres and the heavenly “Almond-esque’voice of James New.
If we add Kraftwerkian outfits and a Dfa touch from producer Jonathan Kreinik (Rapture and !!!) the result is enthralling and fascinating.
“Hide and Seek” is available on 7” and download. It features b-side “Tow The Line” plus three different mixes of the song.
James describes Hide and Seek in this way: “Sometimes the best way to connect with a person is to let them fill in the blanks. Lyrically almost child like in its simplicity, it is a song that can mean everything whilst using a few words. A feeling perpetuated by its loving, soulful intent”.
