FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND have unveiled a suitably macabre music video to accompany the track ‘Serpents In Solitude’ which featured on the band’s recent ‘The Young And Defenceless’ EP. The EP was only available to those fans who pledged prior to its recording through innovative artist-funding platform www.pledgemusic.com, which also saw some of the proceeds donated to charity, but now the world gets a chance to hear the band’s latest material with added visuals. The release marked the start of a new chapter for the band following the departure of long-standing member Darran Smith and the welcoming of Richard Boucher into the fold on bass as Gavin switched over to guitar.
Funeral For A Friend have also recently completed work on their fifth studio album which is set to be released in the first half of next year. The album was produced by Romesh Dodangoda who was also at the helm for the production of the latest EP and 2008’s ‘Memory And Humanity’. To celebrate the completion of this next opus in the band’s career, they’ll be hitting the road for a select run of dates this week, taking in Reading, Swansea and Leicester.
