“My baby calls me the Loch Ness Monster: two great big humps and then I’m gone…”
Worm Tamer, the new single from Grinderman, will be released on 22 November. The second single from their critically acclaimed new studio album Grinderman 2, Worm Tamer will be available as a download and 12’’. Along with the album version of Worm Tamer, the 12” format will include remixes from UNKLE and A Place To Bury Strangers.
Nick Cave: “Worm Tamer, for me, is one of the most extraordinary songs I’ve ever been involved in, in all the years of making music. I’ve never heard anything like it in my life. It’s got a wry kind of lyric to it, but sonically it’s really extraordinary and I can’t really describe it, you just have to kind of hear it.”
Jim Sclavunos: “Worm Tamer is a decidedly freakish number: a catchy paean to the female Other who grows more formidable from verse to verse, set against a whirlwind barrage of outlandish noises, crazed drumming and urgent throbbing bass.”
Warren Ellis: “Worm Tamer is very dense. It’s one that’s going to be interesting to play live.”
Grinderman are Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos.
