Dreamend – So I Ate Myself, Bite By Bite

| On 07, Nov 2010

‘So I Ate Myself, Bite By Bite’ is the brand new album from Chicago based ‘Dreamend’.

The album opens with the beautifully constructed synth pop track ‘Pink Cloud In The Woods’ which begins with a naturalistic sound but then evolves into pure synth pop genius.

The second track ‘Where You Belong’ carries on with the seemingly playful attitude of the album, with an upbeat folk take on the usual synth pop sound. The album then moves into a more emotional beauty driven sound and by track five ‘Repent’, moves from the happy go lucky synth pop/folk sound into new levels and realms of awe, adding depth and further beauty to the album.

The album continues in this fashion of wonderment, but eventually comes to a closing with ‘An Admission’. Just over ten minutes long, this track encapsulates the beauty and heart of the entire album as well, providing an ending or closing point to the rather sinister narrative of the album.

‘So I Ate Myself, Bite By Bite’ is both atmospheric and upbeat with an underlying sinister narrative that is evident throughout the album, showing a fresh approach to the lyrical side of the synth pop/folk genre and highlighting the brilliance of ‘Dreamend’.

‘Dreamend’ are said to be planning a follow up ‘So I Ate Myself, Bite By Bite’ part two, to be released at some point in 2011.
