This week we have some of our favourite promoters coming up with the second installment of their Counter Culture nights. As well as this we have one of our most exciting collaborations so far ‘Counter Culture & Pelski present Jackmode’
LAUGHING BOY COMEDY CLUB Wednesday 3rd November
Comedy Night with Brendon Burns, Abandoman and Rich Fulcher 7pm – late – £8
Performing his hit 2010 |Edinburgh Fringe show Brendon Burns brings his unique gusty and offensive live show to Counter Culture. Alongside this performance 2010 Hackney Empire New act winner Abandoman will be showcasing his unique blend of hip hop free styling comedy. Not forgetting Rich Fulcher who is best known for his roles in The Might Boosh and Snuffbox.
STANDBY W/ JAGUAR SKILLS AND MORE Thursday 4TH November
Live Music and Club Night, Electro, Dub-Step, House, Drum and Bass 8pm- 2.30am – £10/£8 NUS
Jaguar Skills gained notoriety after creating the mix tape ‘A Hip-Hop Odyssey – 800 tracks in 45 minutes’ which was played on Colin Murray and Mistajams shows on Radio 1 and was downloaded over 1 million times. Since then he was rocked Glastonbury, Bestival, V and many more. Joining him on stage will be The Correspondents who mix Hip-Hop with big band music to rave reviews. Parker – who has received plaudits from Massive Attack and DJ Yoda was No1 on the hype machine chart with his dubstep remix of James Brown’s ‘It’s a Man’s world’ will also be joining this huge party along with Young Fathers and the Rumours Disco crew.

Cartuli’s Day crew are the craziest party animals we know- they’ve gone from strength to strength this year and are here to celebrate their 1st Birthday the only way they know how- with a massive party, quality lineup, tasteful house & techno music policy and a friendly vibe!

COUNTERCULTURE & PELSKI PRESENTS JACKMODE Saturday 6th November

Counter Culture has teamed up with renowned tastemaker bloggers Pelski
to bring you a show with one of their favourite booking agents Jackmode. As a booking agency, Jackmode looks after one of the most impressive and respected rosters in Europe, if not the World. With artists spanning the realms of Deep-House, Tropical, Tech-House and all the way to Baile Funk;
Bringing you line-ups bustling with new-comers as well as giants from the roster, these clubnights are set to do nothing short of explode. Lineup includes
Zombie Disco Squad (Made to Play), Christian Martin (dirtybird) Solo (Deadfish) and Room two brings in Round Table Knights, Midland, Charles Darkly plus more.
CULTIVATION Sunday £2 1pm till 7pm
Short Film / Creative Space / Collaborative Works / World Music
Unlike many of our other events this is a daytime gathering between 1pm – 7pm every Sunday Cultivation is a combination of short films, chilled out music and performance making Counter Culture a creative space in which our guests are encouraged to take part in the artistic sessions available. The programme takes place throughout the day and consists of an eclectic mix of the arts – being updated each week. In the words of Cultivation – ‘Come, create, be inspired and make some new friends!’

GUY UNSWORTH PLAY IN A DAY Monday 8th November 7pm (8pm Start) – 10pm £5
Theatre
24 Hours and the clock is ticking. 6 Writers, 6 Directors and 24 actors will have one day to create this piece of site specific theatre from scratch. Locked in the space they will create a piece under the arches while listening to the trains rumbling overhead. No one not even the participants will know what the piece will be like or about till we open the doors to the public at seven.
DIY WITH DIMBLEBY AND CAPPER Tuesday 9th November 7pm Till Late £5
Live music / Fashion / Art
As a platform for underground artists to showcase their pieces Counter Culture invite you to come, observe and participate in this event. With live music from Buffalo, Crewsdon and Dimbleby & Capper along with performance troupe Ta Na Deptford this is a unique costume party. Everyone is asked to come in a homemade costume – it can be anything from a couture gown to something made out of bin bags, there’s no pressure!
ECHOES OF THE UNDERGROUND LAUNCH Wednesday 10th November 7pm till Late £3
Film Launch / Live Music / DJ
With six short Counter Culture Films including previously unseen footage filmed from the making of the album, ‘Lee Harris meets River Styx’. Our first film launch event of the project Lee Harris and River Styx will not only showcase this work but also perform live from the album ‘Angel Headed Hip Hop’.
NIGHTSLUGS ALL STARS Friday 11th November 10pm-6am £10
Club Night / House / Grime
Night Slugs are bringing their unique party vibe to our space under the arches for the launch of their new self titled compilation. With Artists such as Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990, Girl Unit & Kingdom on the bill this night is going to blow up! With early bird tickets already sold out and Room Two being hosted by OFF MODERN this is a party which is likely to create another roadblock.
WHIRL-Y-GIG Saturday 12th November 10pm – 6am £15
As London’s longest running dance community event Whirl-y-gig combines heavy dub and funky drum’n’bass to tropical house and uplifting tribal trance. Check out their website for more details www.whirl-y-gig.org.uk
Counter Culture brings together 99 days of music and the arts as part of its eclectic program in a wonderful and atmospheric pop-up space in the arches beneath London Bridge station.
