Drop The Lime Single & Debut Album

| On 29, Oct 2010

New York DJ/producer ‘Drop The Lime’ AKA Luca Venezia was brought up on a staple diet of Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Richie Valens, and learned to play guitar and sing from a young age. Like every kid, he wanted to be a rock star. Fast-forward a few years and a love affair with club music – specifically the UK-centric sounds of drum’n’bass, jungle and 2step garage – soon began, solidified by a short move to Berlin and an immersion in house, techno and the never-ending warehouse parties the city is famed for.

But the tattooed, Brylcreemed Venezia – every inch the ‘50s teen idol – never lost his love for the sounds he grew up with. As a producer who nearly always includes a Rockabilly segment in his DJ sets around the world, it was only right that he should bring it all together in a track that sees him singing like Gene Vincent on amphetamines over an endless harmonica loop and one of the killer breakdowns he’s famous for.

He has remixed tracks for Armand Van Helden, Robyn, Little Boots, Robyn and Major Lazer to name a few. He also mixed the Fabric Live53 CD released in August of this year.

‘Hot As Hell’ is the lead single  off his debut album ‘Enter the Night’, which is due for release in February 2011. Listen to the single here:  http://www.youtube.com/user/datarecordsuk#p/search/0/cFQz-uLQnTQ.
